1

If you had a Time Machine would you go back in time or forward?

I would most likely go forward. We have an accessible way of seeing what happened in the past. The future is so unknown, that being able to see what happened 20+ years from now is insane.

What’s a book or movie or song you read/watch/listen to that never gets old?

Starting off with a book, I would pick Verity by Colleen Hover. I previously read it over the summer and was in awe of the plot twist. It’s a great novel that I could continuously read over and over again. Moving onto a movie, while I can’t decide which one I love more (cough, cough, Dreamgirls). I would pick Dreamgirls or the Hunger Games Catching Fire. Both are amazing movies that I have watched repeatedly. A song that never gets old is; Partition by Beyoncé. I probably listen to that song twice a day, and still pretend as if I have never heard it before. It is just absolutely amazing!

What is something you’ve seen that you wish you could experience again for the first time?

Around age 13 or so, I watched Homecoming: A Film By Beyoncé. It was incredibly life changing to see such a creative performance. I memorized all of the dance routines, but I have seen it so many times, I know everything that comes next. Which is why I wish I could watch it for the first time to fully appreciate art that is Beyoncé!

What is the hardest way you’ve learned an important lesson?

When I was 11 years old my grandfather passed away. The last time I had seen him we encountered an argument. Around a week or so later he passed away, and I never saw him again. While I know he is in a better place, it taught me that life is too short to not give someone a hug and tell them how much they mean to you. If I could go back and time and change what happened, I would. But I know the best thing to do is appreciate life while I can.

Who in the world do you look up to?

While this question is usually answered with the thought of having one person in mind. I look up to my entire family. My mother radiates passion and striving for a goal. She has taught me everything. Whether it’s how to do my hair, how to stand up for myself. Or even how to get up and brush myself off, as if nothing happened. My father teaches me that one day you must grow up and learn from the things you do. My grandmother has taught me so many things in life that I will forever take with me. She showed me first hand what it’s like to love, be strong, and be kind. My uncle has taught me what it looks like to follow your dreams no matter what anyone says. While my brothers have showed me that if you want something you must go and get it.
